The Exton Region Chamber of Commerce philosophy is to be “volunteer led, staff facilitated.” Because of this we are able to provide more benefits than chambers of a similar size.
Get Involved with the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce—Join a Council or Committee!
A great way to make contacts, and to become a part of the local business community is to serve on one of the Chamber's councils or committees. Our volunteers work hard, but have a lot of fun in the process! Choose a committee or council based on your interests, your skills and you availability.
There is an opportunity for everyone!
Ambassadors
Ambassadors welcome new members to the Chamber, keep in contact with existing members and assist at Chamber Events. Contributes to the growth of the Chamber by recruiting new members and identifying approaches for involving other members in this effort.
Meets the 1st Friday of every month from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Business and Education Partnership
The mission of the Business & Education Partnership (“BEP”) is to better prepare today’s students for the workplace of tomorrow. The BEP manages three programs in partnership with area school districts: Get In, Get Out and Get Real. Committee meetings are held monthly on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Exton Chamber offices.
Currently the BEP supports the Downingtown Area East and West High Schools, the S.T.E.M. Academy and Owen J. Roberts High School.
A brief summary of the BEP’s three programs:
GET IN! Helps provide students with internship opportunities so that they can explore future career choices and gain hands-on business experience.
GET OUT! Provides teachers with the opportunity to visit businesses and learn how to better connect the working world and the classroom as well as to provide relevant learning experiences for the students.
GET REAL! Creates a real business environment for the students where a real business is created and run in the classroom. Students make a business plan, elect a board of directors, develop and sell a product. Net proceeds are donated to a local charity of the “company’s” choice.
You can take a virtual tour of the program by visiting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVjpi0JkYsg. The ten minute video was created by a 10th grade DASD student who worked with the guidance of Propulsion Media, an Exton Chamber member company.
